Remote Education
At Woodlands, we know that attendance is crucial for pupils' success and wellbeing. We sometimes use remote education as a last resort when a child cannot attend school, but also share learning links with parents, who may wish to support their childs' learning, at home.
Benefits:
- Keeps pupils on track.
- Maintains connection with teachers and peers.
Priority: Always ATTENDANCE.
When We Consider Remote Education
-
School Closures/Restrictions:
- Used during events like COVID-19 when schools must close.
- Aim to reopen schools quickly; remote education is a temporary measure.
-
Individual Cases:
- For short-term absences due to illness, recovery from surgery, or injuries.
- Includes special cases like SEND or mental health issues, evaluated individually.
Provision:
- Short-term solution to keep pupils engaged.
- Additional support for long-term medical conditions.
As a School we will endeavor to:
- Uses quality lessons and resources to support learning at home.
- Collaborate with parents to support learning.
- Loan devices to overcome digital barriers.
