Head Teacher 's Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to warmly welcome you to our website, on behalf of all the children, staff and Governors here at Woodlands Primary School and Nursery. I consider it a privilege to be the Headteacher of this vibrant and nurturing school and I am proud to lead a community dedicated to fostering a love of learning, creativity, and personal growth for every child.
At Woodlands, we believe that every child is unique and has the potential to achieve great things! Our committed team of staff work hard to provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and thrive. We are proud to be an inclusive primary school, bringing together children from a range of economic, social and ethnic backgrounds; creating an exciting and diverse learning community, ensuring that children’s well-being is at the centre of everything that we do.
‘Woodlands is a school which is most definitely a leading light and a force to be reckoned with in the field of emotional wellbeing and mental health and one which deserves to be recognised for its wonderful achievements.’

We provide a secure and stimulating environment, that enables us to personalise teaching, providing children with varied opportunities to develop skills, critical thinking and explore concepts. This allows our pupils to build their knowledge and understanding, through learning that captures their interests, stimulates their imagination and ignites a lifelong passion for learning. We aim to develop lively and enquiring minds with the ability to question, to think and to apply themselves to tasks. Our curriculum is enriched by exciting opportunities, enabling children to extend their experiences, develop their knowledge, imagination and understanding, so that they are able to achieve their full potential; gaining the best possible start to their educational life.
We encourage our learners to be sensitive to the needs of others, to have a sense of fairness and justice and an ability to value the contribution of everyone. We endeavour to encourage, in every child, attitudes of acceptance, co-operation, perseverance, independence, respect and responsibility. Each child that attends Woodlands is valued as an individual and we aim to encourage and foster their development intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally within a caring atmosphere.
‘[Staff] build very supportive, caring relationships. They know pupils as individuals and let them know that they are special and valued.’

We believe developing mutually respectful relationships with our families is essential; we view education as a joint undertaking. Partnerships are at the heart of what we do, and we value the strong relationships we build with our families and the wider community. Together, we ensure that every child at Woodlands feels valued, supported, and ready to succeed in the next stage of their educational journey. We hope that we will be able to depend on your co-operation and support in this partnership; knowing that together we can provide the very best for every child that attends our setting.
I hope that you find our website useful and informative, if you have any questions or would like to come and visit our school, please feel free to contact the office to arrange a visit. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school family.
