What a busy October we’ve had. The children have worked really hard this month on their harvest festival performance. We are very proud of them all and how well they did.
In our learning, we have focused on materials in science. We have investigated the properties of different materials, sorted them and conducted an experiment to find the best material to make an umbrella. In Geography we have focused on physical and human features. We focused on the story ‘Katie Morag and the two grannies.’ we produced our own maps of the isle mentioned in the story focusing on the physical and human features that we could spot.
Our other subjects have been PE and music. In indoor PE we have been doing some gymnastics in the hall exploring point and patch balances whilst outdoor we have been playing some playground games.
In maths, we have been focusing on addition and subtraction. we have been using lots of practical resources to support is with this. We have also begun to look at measure exploring using different resources to measure things before moving onto looking at how we use rulers to measure.
Be sure to check back at the end of November to see how the start of our half term went!
