All of the teachers in Early Years are very proud of all the hard work we have seen both at home and at school this week.
The focus for Project Learning has been ‘buildings’ leading onto ‘bridges’, relating to the project that is currently happening within the Block Area. Lots of the children have thought about different types of bridges and what is needed to build a strong bridge.
Lots more reading and writing has taken place during phonics this week. Children – you have been using ‘Fred talk’ and ‘Fred fingers’ really well to apply your reading skills to your writing. Well done!
In mathematics the children have been learning to subtract by counting back to find the answer. We have seen children both at home and at school beginning to understand subtraction through practical problem solving activities. Some of you have represented your calculations through jottings and formal recordings too!
Thanks for all of your hard work – please take a look on our Class Dojo page for our Celebration Assembly!
