Today, we worked in partners to construct an alternative pneumatic system using given resources (two syringes and a piece of tubing). Some of us quickly discovered that you can connect the two syringes together using the tubing.
We noticed that if you pull a syringe out, it very quickly rushes back in again perhaps because of air resistance. Then, we discovered that if you fill a syringe with air before you join them together, you are able to control the other syringe.
Finally, we discovered that if you fill both syringes with air before you join them together, you are not able to do anything because the space is filled with air and a bigger space is necessary.
We then designed our own ‘Moving Monster’ using a simple pneumatic system.
We are so excited to build them tomorrow!
