Our work in literacy over the last few weeks has been based on this book by Oliver Jeffers. It focuses on our world, our place within it and how we should look after it and each other. This has enabled us to talk about our feelings about the world as it is at the moment and our experiences and how we see things looking forward. We have written letters to loved ones, poems, song lyrics and made leaflets and posters to remind people about the rules surrounding Covid.
In maths we have been learning about place value of numbers to 1000. We have ordered and compared them, partitioned them, written them in different ways and learnt some mental skills to help our arithmetic. Moving forward we are now thinking about mental methods of adding 3 digit numbers.
We have enjoyed going swimming and we are all gaining confidence in the water now. We are looking forward to continuing these sessions.
