Walking Bus

Woodlands Walking Buses

Our Walking Bus

(Rain or shine we will get the children to school on time!)

We offer two walking buses ‘free of charge’ for children to get to school. The Walking Bus departs from the Spar Shop on the Spinal Path, Woodside at 8:10am, and the Costcutter shop on Warensway, Woodside at 8.10am prompt and runs daily.

Each child receives a high visibility vest when joining the Walking Bus. Vests are collected the end of July. We request all parents support us by ensuring  children wear their vests everyday.

The success of the scheme depends on the enthusiasm and willingness of parents and children becoming involved. If you would like further details, want your child to take part in the walking bus or if you would like to volunteer to support,  please contact Mrs Fisher 01952 380670

Quote from Sian Skelton – Telford & Wrekin Road Safety & Sustainable Officer

“Woodlands Primary School work very hard in promoting the importance of road safety throughout the school. The team of dedicated staff strive to ensure the safety of the pupils is upheld not only in school but whilst on their journey to and from school. Having two very successful walking buses is incredible and something that most schools could only dream of. They are a brilliant school to work with as they take road safety as seriously as we do!”
