The Junior Road Safety Officers and children at Woodlands are currently working towards the GOLD Modeshift award. The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.
A recent project for the JRSO’s is the ‘Padlock Thursday’. Every Thursday a JRSO places a cardboard padlock on a bike or scooter. The child then takes the padlock to our reception desk where they receive a prize. The JRSO’s hope to see more children each week coming to school on their bikes and scooters.
This weeks winner is Axel (Year 5). Well done!
