Reception News- Summer 1, Week 4

It’s been another fabulous week in Reception.

During project learning this week, the children have been drawing comparisons between vehicles, toys, machines and life in the past. We have had some amazing observational drawings showing children’s representations of toys from the past! Next week, we will be focussing on a personal of historical significance to follow on from this.

The ‘favourite five’ book next week will be ‘The Most Exciting Eid’ by Zeba Talkhani and Abeeha Tariq

Our song of the week for next week will be ‘Hey Diddle Diddle’ 


Next week, we have our Mathematics stay and learn sessions. We will be focussing on subtracting and taking away as our Mathematical concept for children to explore and represent.

During our project learning time, children will be focusing on map making in the outdoor learning area, looking at French chateaus in the block area and seedlings, plants and growth in the workshop.

This week our focus was on ‘Understanding Others’ and the children have all shown that they can put themselves in other people’s shoes. Well Done to Ayiaz, Kennedy, Harley and Carter!
