Reception’s Fabulous Learning WB 1.3.21

What another great week of learning we have had this week in Reception. Both at home and at school, the children have shown such determination and commitment to their learning. We are really proud of all of the amazing thinking you have done this week children, well done. We are now really excited to be welcoming back all children next week – we can’t wait to see all of your smiley faces!

Within mathematics, the children have developed their subtraction skills through practical problem solving. Some of you have really developed your representations of your calculations this week, well done!

Lots more reading and writing has taken place during phonics this week. Children – you have been using ‘Fred talk’ and ‘Fred fingers’ really well to apply your reading skills to your writing. Well done!

The focus for Project Learning this week has been ‘new life’ and ‘growth’, relating to the the project that is currently happening within our Forest School area. Lots of you discovered new growth in and around your garden areas and at school, the children discovered ‘new life’ with the pond area – tadpoles! Have a look at some of the children’s amazing ideas and representations.

This week we also celebrated World Book Day by dressing up in costumes of characters from some of our favourite stories or by providing a ‘clue’ from our favourite story. Lots of you joined in at home too! The teachers within EYFS decided to dress up as the colour monster from by story ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas.

Well done for all of your hard work again this week children. Have a lovely weekend!
