This week in Numeracy, we have been doing lots of work based on statistics including reading, and answering questions on, given bar graphs and pictograms. We even had a go at drawing some of our own.
To help draw our own pictograms, we explored information using resources of our choice (counters, cubes and unit cubes). We were given a tally chart and had to work in groups to recreate the information considering its orientation, colour and scale.
Before we drew bar graphs (based on our favourite ice creams!) we created a human bar graph so we could physically see the bars growing. We decided that, as the highest number of votes was 17, a suitable scale would be multiples of 2.
