Walk/Bike to School and Attendance Week – Starting Monday 22nd October

As you know, walking and cycling has many benefits and walking some or all of the way to school is a great way to help children feel happier, healthier and more alert during the school day. Walking or cycling instead of driving also helps reduce congestion and air pollution around the school gates.

Our aim is to create a walking/biking culture within school and we need your help and support.

We are asking that you embrace the challenge and walk/bike to school as often as you can during Walk to School Week. If you live too far away to walk the whole journey why not park a little way from school and make the rest of your journey on foot?

On each day during the week, the numbers of walkers/bikers will be recorded per class and the class with the most walkers at the end of the week will win a prize!

We will also be running alongside the active travel week, attendance week.  The top 50 children with the highest attendance will be entered into a prize draw to win a £20 Smyth’s Voucher!  Plus the class with the highest attendance will win a £30 Smyth’s voucher to purchase toys for their class ‘rainy day’ box.
