WOODLANDS ECO COUNCIL RECEIVE VEOLIA JUNIOR STREET CHAMPIONSHIP CERTIFICATE

We are proud to announce that Woodlands Primary School have successfully completed the Junior Street Championship scheme.

Activities have included workshops in

  • Your Streets
  • Recycle Racing
  • Food Waste and the Lunch Box challenge
  • Recycling process – Visit to Materials Recovery Facility in Four Ashes, Wolverhampton
  • World Book Day – Ruth Jones, Communications Officer at Veolia, said, “It’s great to get involved in World Book Day by introducing the topic of recycling through the story session. The children took a real interest – listening well and asking lots of questions. Especially for World Book Day, we gave each pupil who attended the workshop a free Munch and the Funny Tummy book.

The workshops are part of the Junior street champion accreditation scheme. This initiative has been developed jointly by Veolia and Telford & Wrekin Council and is part of the Councils’ Pride in your Community programme. Children have learnt about recycling and other environmental issues.

Here you can see the Eco Councillors with their certificate from Veolia, in acknowledgement of their hard work towards improving the local area.
