Last Friday we had a whole school assembly to talk about the role of our Woodlands Safeguarding Team.
They shared what took place over the last year to help ensure children stay safe both within school and their community. This included:
- Producing a logo for WST
- delivered E Safety Workshop to parents with safeguarding Leads, Mrs Crilly and Mrs Fisher, along with Mrs Bailey
- WST met with lunchtime staff to discuss both roles with regards to keeping children safe in school.
- Woodlands Worry Dolls
- Assembly: Different Families
- Assembly: Homophobic Bullying
They also shared plans for the Autumn Term which includes working with Telford Crisis Support who help families in our area who may be struggling to feed themselves and have found themselves in crisis. The NSPCC will be visiting us to talk about Speaking Out and Staying Safe during November. We will be also updating the Child’s Anti-Bullying Policy which will be distributed across the school.
We then introduced our new Safeguarding Officers to the whole school.
We are very excited for the new academic year and we hope parents, carers and grandparents will support us in our plans for the Autumn Term.
