Please support the children to read and share their books at home with you over the week. Children are expected to have read at least 3 times each week at home and to have comments entered into their reading diaries.

Comments can be about how they have used their phonic knowledge to decode words, if they have told you about the characters or plot of the story, if they have answered any questions you have asked or if they have predicted what might happen within their book or story.

Reading diaries are checked each week, on a Friday, so please support the children to do this. Reading at home encourages and improves the children’s confidence and fluency, therefore is very important.
