This week in year 1 we will be learning:

Guided reading – In our guided reading sessions we will continue to practise using our phonics knowledge to decode new books available on Oxford Owl and discussing the events with a grown up.

Phonics : We will continue to practise and learn our speed sounds to read and write words. Each group will then get to start a new story, which we will be reading and writing about.

Maths: We will be continuing our learning and understanding of numbers to 50, moving on to comparing these numbers using the language greater than >, less than < and equal to =.

Project: Last week we began to think about how our brain works with our five senses. This week we will be developing these theories and ideas using drawing, discussions and research.
